President Peter's Message
Our Youth committee organised a great meeting this week and our guests of honour were our mayor, Damon Odey,12-Year 13 Leaders (or 7th Formers for us oldies ) from our district secondary Schools.
It was also pleasing to see some of the Principals who gave of their very valuable time to attend, Lindy Graham, Simon Coleman, Nick McIvor and of course Sarah Davis.
Damon spoke about leadership and the importance of making youth voices heard within our community and reminded us, tongue in cheek about the smoked fish on offer at the port. The students briefly spoke about what they are planning to do after high school and were put on the spot with a pop quiz from the mayor about what they liked and disliked about our region.
The evening was full of chatter and lots of questions from both the students and the club members, the mixed-up tables proving to be a great idea as students and rotary members conversed with ease.
Well done to the team for organising a great dinner and thanks to all those who stepped up (with little notice) with the absence of President Peter, we hope you are on the mend Janet.

Hello, Hello, Anybody Out There To Present Dictionaries To Schools!
We are still seeking members to present these Dictionaries to out schools as soon as we can.
The schools yet to be allocated out are;
Mt Cook, Lake Tekapo and Twizel
Fairlie Primary and Fairlie St Josephs school
South School
Sacred Heart school
Westmount school
A big thanks to President Peter who will present dictionaries to Albury School, Cannington School and Pleasant Point St Josephs School.
And For Gilly O and Robin Petersen who will present dictionaries to Bluestone School.

Rotarian's Please read this – Important Information below!!!!
The club would like to host a student from the Rotary Youth Exchange Programme (RYE).
We are in need of Host Families (and NO your don’t have to have children at home to do this!)
The length of time of each host family having a student is either 3 or 4 months per family.
Come on, Give it a go, contact either Jess on 021 886 812 or Lionel 027 227 9785.
CONFERENCE in Dunedin
May 5th 6th and 7th.
This will be a great conference to attend lots of great inspirational speakers.
A fun way to get the fellowship with other rotarians from around our District.
We NEED to book accommodation now as it's a big weekend in Dunedin.
The theme of the Saturday Night Function is "B".
Again lets gets many people there and show our District how well Timaru can have Fun.
