It is wonderful news to share! - Peter Jordan has agreed to take on the role of Bulletin Editor from Jess Wooffindin as part of a succession plan, so for the next couple of bulletins they will work together for Peter to learn what he needs to know from Jess, prior to taking it on fully. Congratulations Peter, and thanks to Jess, who has been doing such an amazing job for the past couple of years. If you have anything to be included in the Bulletin, please let either of them know.
Our first meeting of the year at the Timaru Town & Country was our “Club Forum” and many good ideas were shared for planning our club activities, projects, and speakers. We also reviewed our club “action plan” and we gave ourselves a “pass” on most of our goals so far, some still remain as a “work in progress” and we scored a “could do better” on growing membership. Thanks to everyone for their input and discussion.
District 9999 “Weekend of Connection” in Timaru, to be held 22nd & 23rd February: (Have you registered yet?)
This weekend also coincides with the anniversary of 120 years of Rotary International on February 23rd.
Thanks to Lionel Wilson, most of the components for the predator traps have been sourced and purchased and thanks to Tony Henderson, Jim Garden, Dave Darling, Bruce Fraser, Ashley Milliken and Andy Walton-Woodings, the wood has been cut and prepped ready for construction.
Recently, thanks to Jess Wooffindin, Jenny Ensor, Lionel Wilson and myself, the Hot Dog Van was given a much needed “deep clean”, so it was once again sparkling clean, in readiness for our busy weekend at the Tennis and the Museum Retro Rock events. Thanks to Jess Wooffindin, Jenny Ensor & Basil Ensor, Diane & Brian Thin (friends of Rotary), John Rushton, Tony Henderson, Gilly Oppenheim, Jim Garden, Greg & Melissa Sugrue, Andrea Lord, Bev Slooten, Lionel & myself, we had a very busy two days at the Tennis and evening at the Retro Rock, the weather was hot, and people very complimentary. Sales were great.
