President-Elect Cheryl's Message.

Hi everyone, "Happy New Year"

Can you believe it, we got through yet another challenging year reasonably unscathed. We said goodbye to some and welcomed others. If I name them, I’m worried I will miss someone so best not even try.

We had an amazing year, achieved a lot despite everything and we can be very proud of ourselves. Check out our bulletins for the past year (which I just know you’ve saved), to recap.

We’ve started 2022 with a great kickstart. Our Robyn was recognised in the New Year Honours list. Well deserved. And I’ve been given a couple of good project ideas to think about. Keep an eye out for one that works for you. I’m sure we will all be staying fairly local, enjoying friends, family and our environment as we wait for the world to right itself.

See you at our first meeting, a great traditional kiwi bbq.

Yours aye
Cheryl
President-Elect

Editors Humour.

Two old guys, Russell and Bruce went to the movies.  A few minutes after it started, Russell heard Bruce rustling around and he seemed to be searching on the floor under his seat.
"What are you doing?" asked Russell.
Bruce, a little grumpy by this time, replied "I had a caramel in my mouth and it dropped out.  I can't find it."
Russell told him to forget it because it would be too dirty by now.
"But I've got to", said Bruce, "my teeth are in it!"

An elephant drinking from a stream spots a tortoise lounging on the shore. He grabs it with his trunk and flings it into the jungle. A passing zebra asks, "Why did you do that?" ...... "Forty years ago that very tortoise nipped my tail just for fun," the elephant said. "Wow, forty years ago! How did you remember that?" "Well I have turtle recall," replied the elephant.

Two old friends, Jim and Mike, lived for rugby. Then one day, Jim died, leaving Mike inconsolable. A few weeks later, Mike heard someone calling his name. He looked up. Standing on a cloud was his old pal Jim.
Jim called down, “I have good news and bad. The good news is, there’s rugby in heaven!”
“Great,” said Mike. “What’s the bad news?”
Jim “You’re playing Sunday.”
