President Jess's Message.

🥳 HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! 🥳

Hope you all had a lovely festive season the last few weeks and managed to catch up with family and have a nice break. I certainly enjoyed the two long weekends I had off, brilliant when the stats fall at the weekend! (No rest for the wicked 😂).

We had some sad news in the holidays that our club member Roy Evan's passed away. Roy made significant contributions to our club over his nearly 48 years of service and he will be missed within our club.

Tis the time to get the Rotary caps back on and get registered for our welcome back BBQ next week at Cheryl's house. See below for the details.

Catch you all next week!

Cheers
Jess

Host Duties.

When doing Host Duties (i.e. Duty Roster), please remember that you set tables, raffles etc up for the night.
Then at the end of the meeting you need to pack up again and return table numbers etc. into the box and put away.
The large sign outside door must also be packed away (this part isn't always been done).
It then falls to those leaving last.

RAFFLE PRIZES

For this Rotary year, President Jess would like members to take turns at providing the raffle prize (no alcohol please), either by buying a prize to the value of $10 to $15 (keep the receipt and ask Treasurer Jenny for reimbursement using the claims form click here...) or maybe you have a suitable prize you'd like to donate.

To make it simple to keep track of whose turn it is, the person on Host Duty 2 will be asked to provide the raffle prize for the week.

When it's your turn to provide the prize:
  • Please put the prize on the Host table no later than 5:30 pm.
  • Make sure there's a raffle sheet (from the host bin) and a pen on the table.
  • If you are unable to attend Rotary, and you are unable to find someone to swap, please contact Robyn Baldwin so she can arrange cover for the night.

Not Received The Bulletin??

For some unexplainable reason members computers seem to decide to place the weekly bulletin in the 'Junk' ('Spam') folder of their emails from time to time - so if you do not receive the bulletin any week please check this folder (and I can almost guarantee 99% of the time you will find it there).
Each week after sending the bulletins out I check the 'Send History' in Clubrunner to verify any that get 'dropped' (not sent) and check the reason why (of the 79 odd bulletins that are sent out only between 0 & 2 are dropped).
Stephen (Editor).

Information Required.

Remember this is "your" bulletin and so please email information to me on what your committee is doing (or planning) so everyone can be aware of it.
Lack of the above will mean the bulletin is not advising the members of what is happening in the club & particapation will be down.
Stephen

Editors Humour.

A senior citizen in Florida bought a brand new Mercedes convertible.
He took off down the road, flooring it to 80 mph and enjoying the wind blowing through what little hair he had left on his head.
"This is great," he thought as he roared on down I-75.
He pushed the pedal to the metal even more.
Then he looked in his rearview mirror and saw a highway patrol trooper behind him, blue lights flashing and siren blaring.
"I can get away from him with no problem," thought the man and he tromped on it some more, and flew down the road at over 100 mph, then 110, 120mph.
Then he thought, "What am I doing? I'm too old for this kind of thing."
He pulled over to the side of the road and waited for the trooper to catch up with him.
The trooper pulled in behind the Mercedes and walked up to the man.
"Sir," he said, looking at his watch. "My shift ends in 30 minutes and today is Friday.
If you can give me any reason why you were speeding, that I've never heard before, I'll let you go."
The man looked at the trooper and said.
"Years ago my wife ran off with a Florida State trooper, and I thought you were bringing her back."
The trooper replied, "Sir, have a nice day.
