Wow, 2025 and already we are almost at the end of our first month! I hope this finds you all charged with new energy (or maybe exhausted) after spending time with friends and family, sharing wonderful times and creating precious memories together.
Following a busy end to the year, January has also been busy, with planning for the District 9999 “weekend of connection” in Timaru, to be held 22nd & 23rd February. District Governor Dave McKissock dropped in to check out the scope of the Park Centre “painting of the fences” project and check the details for the building of Predator traps, both projects planned for the weekend, and he was most supportive and enthusiastic.
Our first “pre-prep working bee” for the painting will be held this Saturday morning, 9am at the Park Centre in the Botanic Gardens. You will have received notification from Greg Sugrue, if not, contact him if you are available to join us.
The Wishing Well, belonging to our club, which is situated on the Bay Hill, is, unfortunately, showing signs of decay around the top and this morning John Rushton, along with Gavin Green and a couple of Johns workmates, removed the top, and work has begun to restore it to its former glory (Or better).
The wood crew are back in action and the stockpile is taking shape once again, thanks for your efforts team.
I’m really looking forward to catching up with those of you who will be attending our first meeting for the year, next Tuesday evening at Basil & Jenny Ensors for a “Return to Rotary BBQ”, and for those of you who are now taking the opportunity to travel, enjoy your holidays and stay safe.
Catch up again soon,
Lynette
