President Andrea's Message .
As I sit in the window at work watching the world go by, I'm reminded of the weeks of holiday I managed to fit in. What a wonderful relaxing time. Filled with lots of fun and laughter and more importantly for me , sleep.
The new year will bring much for us as a club. We have a year to be filled with lots if fun and fellowship. We need to find those projects to support and enhance our community.
So here is my challenge to you,
Can everyone think hard, look around you. What can we as a group do to help others.
If everyone can come up with an idea I'm sure will find that special project to get behind.
I look forward to meeting you all again next week and to hear your Xmas adventures.
Have fun and see you all soon

An Appreciation From Owen Marshall
Following our presentation of a 'Paul Harris Fellow Award' to local writer Owen Marshall by President Andrea at our end of year Christmas party on Tuesday 11th December Andrea received the following email:-
Dear Andrea,
I'm writing to thank you and Rotary for the unexpected, but very much appreciated, 'Paul Harris Fellow Award'.
I see it as recognition of the role literature plays in our culture, and of the significance of the arts generally.
Jackie and I very much enjoyed the Tuesday evening with you all. An impressive meal with friendly, relaxed companions.
As I said in my brief comments, I commend all of you within the Rotary organisation for the important service you give to our community.
May the club continue to prosper.
Happy Christmas and best wishes,
Owen Marshall

Christmas Party Hats.
The following photos display some of the creative hats worn by President Andrea, Keith and the winning ones modelled by Bev. & Russell Dockrill at our Christmas Party.
Club Runner Update.
There appears to have been a recent update to the Club Runner (CR) app, which has the effect of disabling the ability of some members to direct dial numbers listed in the Club Members Directory.
This could be occurring if your mobile phone does not automatically update.
A quick solution is to delete the CR app from your mobile phone and then re install it.

Lance
2019 Duty Roster.
Below is the 2019 Duty Roster so members can pencil their dates in their diaries?
And a reminder to arrange substitutes if they're going to be away.
This can be also updated by John if you email him with your replacements name and he will then update the roster (so correct in bulletin).
Duty Roster Attendance.
It is important (as noted under the "Duty Roster" on the left) that if your name is listed that you organise for someone to do your duty on the night (if you are not attending on the night or you are to be late) as often it is falling to members who are there early in the evening to do the duties (otherwise they are being done later on before the meeting - when those on duty have no appeared). By clicking on the link (under 'Duties Roster") it is possible to see the "full" list showing when you are due to be on well in advance to give you plenty of time to organise (swap) with someone.
A Riddle To Solve.
The answer to the last riddle:-
Twelve, 2nd January, 2nd February, 2nd March ...
The word "what" is spelled with four letters (w, h, a, and t). The word "sometimes" is spelled with 9 letters (s,o,m,e,t,i,m,e, and s) etc.
