Mix a little foolishness with your serious plans. It is lovely to be silly at the right moment. - Horace

President Hugh's Message.
What if WINZ had nothing available? What if there were no Benefits?
Come along on Tuesday to find out more about WINZ and how it can provide support for those who need support. Particularly relevant in these challenging times. What if there was no Wage Subsidy to support businesses suffering from Covid lockdowns? What is the new name for the Unemployment Benefit? What is the new name for the Sickness Benefit? How do those benefits differ from the benefits available now? Are benefits easy to get? Do benefits encourage the lazy not to work and sit around all day, drinking beer and taking drugs? How much do you get on a benefit? Is it enough to allow you to buy food and support your family?
Merali Taylor & Jocelyn Batchelor - Speaking on 'What's Available From WINZ'.
Followed by a Directors Meeting for the Board at Lynette & Lionel's (166B North St).
Members are reminded to put in an apology for the meeting by noon on Monday (otherwise they are liable to be charged) - click on the following link to apologise:-
Renee Rowland - Speaking on 'Cycling Alone Through Asia & Europe'.

Don't forget to bring a non-perishable item along each week (until our second last meeting before Christmas) for donating to 'Family Work' Food Bank to go in the 'Christmas Food Parcels' they will be giving out.
Family Works 'Christmas Angels'.
Julie Dockrill is co-ordinating on behalf of our club the PSSC Family Works 'Christmas Angels' project where members can help by getting involved to buy gifts/gift vouchers, experiences etc for a local family (or if enough members involved 'families') in need this Christmas.
Remember this is "your" bulletin and so please email information to me on what your committee is doing (or planning) so everyone can be aware of it.
Lack of the above will mean the bulletin is not advising the members of what is happening in the club & particapation will be down.
Stephen

Editors Humour.
The restaurant manager kept reminding his waitresses to encourage customers to order dessert. At the end of an especially exhausting day, A waitress walked over to a couple who had just sat down, gave them each a menu and a glass of water, and asked, “Would you care for anything else?”

A man goes to a job interview and the interviewer begins with the question, "What do you think is your biggest weakness?" The man thinks for a moment, then says, "I think my biggest weakness is my brutal honesty." The interviewer says, "I don't think that's a weakness." The man then says, "I don't give a #%^& what you think!"

Alan goes to the doctor, concerned about his wife's hearing. The doctor says, "Stand behind her and say something and tell me how close you are when she hears you." Alan goes home, sees his wife Lorna in the kitchen, cutting carrots on the countertop. About 15 feet away he says, "Honey, what's for dinner?" Nothing. He gets halfway to her and repeats the same question. Nothing. Very concerned, he gets right behind her and asks again "What's for dinner?" She turns around and says "For the THIRD time, beef stew!"
