THE CLUB CELEBRATES ITS 90TH ANNIVERSARY IN STYLE

On Tuesday 14th November over 45 past members, their partners and special guests joined with us to celebrate the Club's 90th Anniversary, with District Governor Bruce Cowan and Jill as our Guests of Honour.

DG Bruce highlighted the Club's achievements and its contribution to the District over the past 90 years and acknowledged the Club's 5 past District Governors.

Each of the Past Presidents highlighted one of the notable events during their year in office. This was followed by Keith Bartholomew's presentation of a summary of the Club's activities and achievements since 1927; it was great to be reminded of the Club's many projects and social activities and to see many of our present and past members looking a good deal more youthful in days gone by!

Over the last couple of years a new section of the Club has been formed and Jess Hewitson, the leader of our NRG (Next Rotary Generation) members, spoke about the NRG members and how this part of the Club works.

The evening concluded with the cutting of the Anniversary Cake by our longest-serving member, Bruce Wilson, and the Rotarian who introduced him to Rotary, Brian Petrie.

The 90 members and guests present had a thoroughly enjoyable time; old acquaintances renewed, old memories brought to light, old friends no longer with us remembered, and good company enjoyed by all.
